7-day Machame route
The "Whiskey route" with an extra acclimatization night at Karanga Camp.
The route at a glance
Machame is Kilimanjaro's most popular route: more scenic than Marangu, quicker than Lemosho, with great views every day.
This 7-day version adds a full extra night at Karanga Camp (4,035 m). That one extra day of acclimatization can make the difference between reaching Uhuru Peak and turning back at Stella Point.
Your adventure starts at Kilimanjaro Airport with a warm welcome at a quiet hotel in Moshi. Over seven days you walk through five climate zones, from rainforest to the arctic summit.
